Busy busy

Having a few really busy weeks and more to come. A lot going on in school and a move on top of that. Tomorrow will be a crazy day 'cause it's the day before the big day. I'm finally moving on Friday. I can't wait, although I wish that I just woke up Saturday morning and everything is done and no aching muscles from carrying boxes and all. But that's not gonna happen. I might wake up strong as Pippi.
Have to go to bed now so I'll make it to the gym tomorrow morning. And I need all the energy I can get so my room pretty much ready as it can get before I go to bed again. Can't wait to show you my new home!!!!

My dream

Call me crazy but my dream is to move back to the States. I have the opportunity to get an internship wherever  I want in the world and thinking about looking into going back to New England. But it's a rather short period (about 2 months) and I'm sure it will be impossible to find a company who's willing to pay for visa and everything... Spring 2012 it is, my last semester at the university. But I'll do my best to end up somewhere in the world that might help me to get a good job after I've graduated.
But it still leaves me the question, How on earth can I get a green card and move back to New England? I wish it wasn't so hard. But one day I'll be back, having an apartment in Cambridge or something or a house on Fairmount ave ;D
Make it work as Tim Gunn always says. And I'll make it work, somehow.

Cotton up my nose

Lately I've been having problems with nose bleeds and a lot of them. Whatever I do I get a nose bleed and and sometimes it's been really heavy bleeding aswell. So I decided to do something about it and saw a doctor today. Now I'm sitting here with tons of cotton in my nose that's dripping oil, so it feels like I have a stuffy and runny nose at the same time. Apparently one of my blood vessels want to see the world and keeps on bursting. But they did something to make him stop bursting and now I'm sitting here with lots of cotton in my nose.

I'm pretty cute, right?!
So far I've been to the doctor three times in a month, so if nothing else happens I can start focusing on the coming move (and school of course).

Doctors appointment

Yesterday I removed two moles and I must say that I'm really proud of myself. It is pretty awful to be awake, to hear everything and to feel them doing something to me. I got all cold and shivery, but I made it. Now I have about 6 stitches and can't move my left arm too much 'cause it feels like I'm tearing up the wound.
I guess it's because I don't have my mom and dad here to take care of me that makes it hurt a bit more. But soon I'll have two more scars from removing moles and I'll be happy again.

Stockholm

Just spent a weekend in Stockholm with my family. And of course I did a lot of shopping. We had such a great time, eating fabulous food and the Mamma Mia! musical.
Even though I'm insanely tired now I got tons of energy to keep studying. The only thing is that I'm starting to feel stuck here in Kalmar, and when it comes to me that's not a good thing. I NEED A GREEN CARD so that I can come back to you! All I need is some new to happen.
My dear friend Steph moved to Nashua last Tuesday and is getting married on Friday. It's all so crazy and I can't help to feel jealous. So now it's not just my "family" that brings me to Boston but also my best friend.
It's now time for me to get ready for bed since I'm extremely tired and need a lot of sleep.
Happy belated birthday, Elise!! I hope the boys took care of you and that you had a great b-day!

No more

I'm just about to crawl out of my skin. This morning I was studying and trying really hard to concentrate as someone somewhere in this building was playing music. And now I'm sitting here watching TV and listening to a party next door. The music is pumping, people are yelling (and believe it or not, it sounds like they are jumping) and I keep on turning up the volume on my TV hoping that it will close out the noise. No luck though.
I'm so ready to move out of here. I can't stand the noise, the people, the dirty kitchen and cramped room anymore. I wish that the end of November is getting closer 'cause I'm out of here.

Big day

Today is a pretty big day in Sweden - Election day. Today it will be decided who'll be Sweden's new Prime Minister for the next four years. But the question is which party will get the most votes and get most power in the Swedish government. It's a rather exciting night, and it brings me back to the the presidential election when Obama won. It is just as exciting and nerve-wracking.

Who'll be the next Prime Minister:
Fredrik Reinfeldt - Sweden's current Prime Minister?

or Mona Sahlin?

My heart is aching for...

Tonight is one of those nights when I can't stop thinking about Boston. All my memories from the best 22 months of my life are coming back, and I crave a chai tea latte from Starbucks. Fall in New England - and I won't be there so enjoy it. How on earth can I get a visa and a green card so I can go back?! Don't get me wrong, Sweden is beautiful and great, but Boston is what I need right now.
I will now continue dreaming about my life in Boston by browsing real estates in the area. A few months ago I found my dream house - small victorian house in Melrose. We'll see what I can find this time.

Yay

I'm sitting here listening to Antony and the Johnsons and enjoying a beautiful Saturday. Fall has arrived and it's already in the high 50's out, soon it will be winter.
Yesterday me and my sister went looking for apartment yesterday, just walking around to different real estate concerns, introducing ourself (not using the internet as we've done all along) and we're so lucky to find a place - finally. It's being fully renovated now, new kitchen, bathroom, floors, everything is being re-done So in December I'll be moving into a place with my sister. No more dorm and sharing a kitchen with other students. We are so lucky because we would not have gotten that apartment, especially since it's extremely hard to find a place to live here in Kalmar and it could take years.
Yay, I'm moving to my first apartment!!!!

Back in Kalmar

I've been really busy the past couple of weeks, painting rooms and babysitting a adorable 3 months old little boy, and much more. Yesterday, after 8 hours of travel I got back to Kalmar for yet another year as a student.
Since my computer has been failing on me and had to give up and buy a new one. So I am now a proud owner of a mac, mostly thanks to you since you introduced me to the world of Macs =)
Tomorrow is my first day in school and I so ready. This semester I'm taking a human geography class which I'm really looking forward to. Now that I'm back in Kalmar I'll make time to upload tons of pictures from my summer, especially my fishing adventure I haven't told you about yet.

Tons of love,

Picture time...

I'm alive, I'm just not writing that much anymore. Me and my family went to Denmark a couple of weeks ago and i believe I have tons of pictures to share from that trip. My computer i just giving up on my, both externally and internally so I need to buy a new one. That's why I'm waiting to upload the pictures.

Fall is getting closer. In this country it feels like summer's turning to fall over night, and pretty soon it will get cold and grey again. But with fall approaching it also means that it's time for school again, and I do look forward to it.

I hope everything is awesome over there!!!

Eurovision Song Contest

Every year there is a big song contest in Europe - the Eurovision Song Contest. And this year it was held in Oslo, Norway as they won last year. Although Sweden didn't qualify, which was a shame, this was the best thing that happend during the evening. The last minutes of voting and when they counted the votes a norwegian  group, Madcon, performed their song Glow and made almost entire Europe dance.

Watch this flashmob dance, and even thought it's really long it makes you smile all the way till the end.

Picture time

I thought it was time to post pictures - finally!

Spring finally arrived to Kalmar, although it wasn't that warm out...

Me and Maria ate a delicious lunchbuffé at our favorite bar/lounge.

A poster we made for an event class I was taking. Look pretty cool, right?

As you can see, it was about time for a haircut.

And this is Kicki now.

The popcorn bag broke in the microwave.

My computer broke today. Tape can fix anything, but I'm not sure I can close it though...

Summer...

I've have had a couple of busy weeks now writing this essay like a crazy swedish girl. Tomorrow at 4 pm it's supposed to be done, which means that I can start my summer break. The only things that's left is an opposition next Thursday, and that's it for my first year in college =)

Now it's almost 2 weeks untill I'm in Boston!!!!!! And btw, I got a haircut and my hair is pretty short. I might have to post a pic so that you won't expect a swedish girl with long hair when I arrive! Hehe

Miss you guys and can't wait to see you!

Dalhalla

As I mentioned before, me and my sister are at home in Falun right now. We are writing an essay about a musical arena that is just like an amphitheater. It's situated in the middle of nowhere, in the province Dalarna, about an hour drive from Falun. What's so unique with this place is that the stage is in the bottom of this old limestone quarry, surrounded by an emerald green lake, and it's perfect for operas as its acoustic is amazing. Unfortunately, they are not doing that well and are dependent on grants and other financial support.

Today we had an interview with the CEO and he showed us around and told us all about their plans. This place is really amazing, beautiful and unique. If you ever come to visit you can't miss this place. And not to forget about the beautiful landscape. I'm proud to say that I'm from this province.

I took some pictures of this arena today that I want to upload as I get the time, so that you can see it in daylight. Imagine a concert here with all the effects you can think of such as water, fire, even pirate ships, and fireworks lightning everything up. Well, this place has got it all, plus the experience of the music!

This is Sweden =)

Wedding

I never told you about the royal wedding coming up. Our princess, the next queen, is getting married to her long time partner Daniel this summer. On June 19th, there will be a royal wedding in Stockholm, and it's going to be big. It sure is a big deal here and the tax payers are paying a lot. Besides allt this you can buy royal chocolate, china, crystals or just small less expensive things, especially design for the wedding. Sweden is going crazy on June 19!
