Summer is coming closer and closer and I am now starting to freak out 'cause I haven't managed to get job for the summer. I am so desperate that I'm looking for jobs all over the world. Haha.

My plan right now is to get a temporary nanny job in London for 2 months, and stay with Steph. But it sure is harder than I thought... But my plan is still to come and visit, and have been saving up since December. Keep you fingers crossed that I'll get a job or else I'll be a very poor girl/student.

I bet you've heard a lot about the volcanic eruption on Iceland. Well, that's all we hear about here in Sweden. For the past two days all of the airports here have been closed and this volcanic ash keeps on closing airport all over northern Europe. What's so insane is that the infrastucture here in Sweden is really affected, the train run on full capacity with more cars and so on, more busses are running and there are supposed to be really hard to rent cars.



My poor dad is stuck in Spain. He was supposed to get home yesterday, but is now going to be able to get on flight on Sunday night. I wonder when he will be back home!? The good thing is that he's there for work so he has a lot of company.

When will this stop? But at the same time I believe it's pretty cool that a volcanic eruption can affected so many countries, not only the once with a the ash clouds but also other countries with aiports, and not to forget all the tourists stuck in countries all over the world and can get home. Let's put it this way, it's the big news here.

Hopefully my dad will be coming home on Sunday, 'cause I know he wants to go home!

Today is a big day for kids in Sweden. It's the day they knock on doors and get candy, just like you do on Halloween. They dress up as nice witches, who are supposed to fly on their broomsticks to a place called Blåkulla, according to the tradition. Of course they don't fly away, but they still get tons of candy.

As you can see that the scarf on the head, red cheeks and freckles are a must.
I remember getting home from school when I was a kid, making tons of easter cards. You see, if you want candy you need to give them an easter card in return. They mostly look like the picture at the beggining, with eggs, a witch, a chick or anything else that is easterish (it says Happy Easter on the card above). Of course you decorated the card yourself, so it was always one of a kind. Imaging making over 50 cards in one day. That's what I did so I could go to as many houses as possible. Meaning the cards were not that nicely made since I had to make so many of them =)

This week we have had guest lectors by a professor from Thailand. The lectures were really good and inspiring, making school a bit more fun. So now I'm actually considering going to Thailand next year and study tourism for a semester. Sounds pretty exciting right?! This professor is from a international college which is my university's sister uni. But it's a year from now, so I still have time to decide what I want to do, but I could be an experience to live in Bangkok for almost 6 months. And the professor told us that one of the biggest mall in Bangkok has 7 Starbucks, so that's probably where you'll find me =)

I never told you guys that I just started to interview au pairs to be. That's my new little extra job, talking to girls who wants to go to the USA as au pairs and experience what I experienced. It's crazy 'cause they remind me of myself over three years ago. Soon I'll know everting about the au pair program, everything from applying to the program to being an au pair.

Unfortunetly it makes me think of you guys too much, and it's still, after a whole year, wierd not having the boys around.

I've have had a lot of things going on, as usuall, expos, school, my extra job and looking for a job for the summer. But I have to start taking pics of my life here so that you'll see what I'm doing. My biggest dream right now is to go back to Boston during the summer, so cross you're fingers that I'll have the money. Can't wait to see you!!!!!!!

Today is the Lenten Bun day.
Just leard that this day is called Mardi Gras in french, but I'm not sure they do the same thing as us, eat a lenten bun only once a year. The bun is filled with marzipan and wipped cream, but since I'm not a big marzipan fan I have mine with vanilla cream.


It was delious and I wish we bought one more ;D

Right now I'm at home in Falun with my parents. I'm gonna be here for a whole week which is just what I need! hehe
This winter has been cold and and really snowy, but I've heard that you guys have had a really white winter aswell.

Tomorrow I'm going to Stockholm for the day so that's really exciting.

I've never told you, Elise, what I do at the gym (besides working out). I'm actually going to a pilates classes. I started November-December and I do really enjoy it, it's a lot of fun. It's amazing how those tiny moves can give you muscle aches. The funny thing is that everytime I'm there I think you of 'cause you are the pilates master. Hehe.

Now I'm sitting here eating chocolate 'cause I deserve it =)

The past few weeks have been insanely busy and they're not over yet. I have a big exam on Thursday so I'm not doing anything else but studying. But I wanted to be a good Swedish girl and upload some pictures from my Christmas in Falun.

I'm at home with my family, and it feels awesome. Since I had a hard time last year over Christmas, and had the worst homesickness ever I must say that I'm happy to be at home with my family now.

I know that this year it will be very empty on Christmas morning, since it's just a "normal" morning here. I will be thinking of you a lot then. But I can't get both, right?! Be in Sweden and Boston at the same time... Hehe

This little girl is starting to plan a little trip to Boston next summer. I guess you can say I'm addicted to Boston. There's just one little hick-up, and that's the fact that I'm a student and not that rich. But I'm working on it...

But don't get your hopes up, I still need to figure out the whole money situation before I can really start the planning. This means that I hope you won't be down the Cape the whole summer =)

I heard that you guys have had a few snow days so far, lucky. And so has my parents in Falun. I'm starting to regret moving to this part of the country 'cause it's just gray and rainy here. I haven't even seen a single snowflake yet. So now I can't wait going home to a (hopefully) snowy Falun.

It's cold and dark out... So what did I usually eat for lunch in the States?! Your Chili of course. Now I 've got this huge craving for your chili so I had to take a look at the recipe you sent me. To my disappointment I realized that I can't afford all the ingrediets as a student.

So when I'm going home for Christmas I'm gonna make mom buy all the stuff I need so I can make my family Elise's famous chili. And then I think I need some banana bread while I'm at it.

Happy Thanksgiving, my awesome family. Had to call Sensei Jon twice today and make sure he would take pictures of the food he's cooking. And I must say that Thanksgiving is one of my favorite American holidays.

I don't know if it's the season or the lack of money that makes me want to buy everything I see. It could also be the fact that I'm sick and have nothing else to do than rest... I've been doing some window shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch's and Urban Outfitters' websites. And I'm afraid I might continue on to more sites and want more things. I think it's time for me to go to Boston and do some shopping.

Beside that I found an apartment today that I want. So now I have to convince my dad that it's the best place and perfect for me and my sister, so that he can help us out with a loan.

As you can see I want to shop, and I'm pretty sure it's the lack of money... I hope the shopping will be as good as it is now, when I'll come and visit you guys in Boston soon. Hehe

What's going on?! I read that Brigham's is facing bankruptcy. Does that mean that their ice cream is gonna disappear?! Even though they stopped making Dice cream/Cursed reversed (was looking for it everywhere last summer and couldn't find it...) I still like their ice cream.

Just found out that there's a girl in my class from California. She got married to a swedish guy and move here eight years ago. It's a lot of fun talking to her since she's speaks swedish and english, hehe.
So I realized that Thanksgiving is coming up. And I must admit that I love Thanksgiving, it's so cozy with a little pre-christmas feeling to it. What I'm trying to say is that I have to ask Michelle from my class if she's gonna have a Thanksgiving dinner.

There's a video store down the street that sells imported american food and candy. They have cranberry sauce, mac & cheese and pumpin, and I just found the candy shelf with buttefingers, reese´s, laffy taffy, skittles and so much more. It's pretty expensive though but it's so worth it. And Starbucks is coming to Sweden. The first coffee shop is going to be at Arlanda Airport, the biggest airport in the country. Too bad it's too far away and too expensive to go there buy train or bus. But I could do almost anything for a Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks.

Just read that Sesame Street turnes 40 years old today. That's pretty amazing how it's still so popular after all these years, but I don't blame kids and adults (like me) for watching it since it's the best show ever!
